How to Delete An Instagram Story Before Posting
Here’s our simple trick that will help if you want to delete your Instagram story while it’s still Posting or Uploading.
As you have shared the story and it’s in posting status, simply switch ON the airplane mode or turn off your internet connection as soon as possible.
Then, Tap on your profile to see the story and a message will appear “Upload failed”. Tap on the three dots upright in the corner and then press Delete.
How to Delete Your Instagram Story After Posting
Step 1: Open the Instagram app and click on your profile to view the story.
Step 2: When you are on the story you want to delete, tap the three dots available in the bottom right corner of the story.
Step 3: Select the Delete option.
Step 4: Confirm it by tapping on the Delete option again.
Your Instagram Story will be deleted successfully.
Your deleted Instagram stories are stored in the Recently Deleted section in the app’s Settings. So, if you want to restore it to your profile, you can do so.
Here’s how you can access the recently deleted stories within the past 24 hours.
Step 1: Open your profile and tap the three horizontal lines in the top right corner.
Step 2: Select Your Activity.
Step 3: Select Recently Deleted.
Step 4: Go to the Stories.
Now you have a choice to either restore it or delete it.
Tap and open the story that you want to restore or delete. Tap on the three dots available in the bottom right and select the action you want to perform.
You will be asked to confirm your decision by entering a code received in your email or phone that is linked to your Instagram account.
How to Delete Stories From Archive
Post 24 hours of your published story, they become an archived story that can be accessed easily.
Here’s how to delete your archived stories.
Step 1: Open your profile, and tap the three horizontal lines in the top right.
Step 2: Tap on Archive.
Step 3: Tap onthe three-dot icon in the bottom right.
Step 4: Tap on Delete.
Step 5: Confirm it by tapping Delete again.
Your deleted archived stories will still be accessible in the Recently Deleted section for a maximum of 30 days. You can restore it to Archive again anytime if you want to.
