Instagram not showing mutual likes because you might have accidentally enabled the “Hide Like and View Count” option on the Instagram app. 

The “Hide Like and View Counts” option offers you the choice of whether to show the number of mutual likes and view counts or not. If you enable this option, you will not see the total likes and views on any posts from the people you follow. Similarly, people who follow you will not be able to see the total number of likes and views on your posts. 

The Hide Like and View Counts feature also works on another factor. If the option is disabled on your account but other users enabled it, then Instagram will not show them the total likes and views counts on your posts and others.

If someone hides the likes on their posts, it will appear like this “Liked by howtotechpanda and others” only. 

How To Fix Instagram Not Showing Mutual Likes Issue?

To fix Instagram not showing mutual likes, you need to turn OFF the “Hide Like and View Counts” option. Below are steps to do this:

1. Launch the Instagram application on your device and log in to your account. 
2. Go to your Instagram profile by tapping the profile icon.
3. Tap the three-line menu in the upper right corner.
4. Select “Settings” from the menu.
5. Tap the Privacy option.
6. Now tap Posts.
7. Here, select the “Hide Like and View Counts” and press the toggle to turn it OFF if it is enabled. 

Now, if you still can not see the total likes count and you are seeing the “Liked by xyz and others” only, means the users have used the Hide Like and View Count option on their post. 

In this case, you will not see the total likes and view counts the post has. Furthermore, users can hide the likes count on individual posts too, instead of all. 

To hide likes on single posts, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner of the post, then tap the Hide like count option. The post likes count will disappear.
