How to Delete Search History Using Instagram App 

Method 1

For both Android & iPhone

Step 1: Open the Instagram app. 

Step 2: Click the search icon next to your Home icon. 

Step 3: Click the Search bar at the top. 

Here you will see all the searches you’ve made recently. 

Step 4: Click the X icon next to each search to remove it. You need to repeat this for all the searches you want to clear.

To delete all your search history at once, tap the See All option in the top right, then tap Clear All. Now, you need to tap Clear All again to confirm your decision.

Method 2

Step 1: Launch the Instagram app on your device (Android or iPhone).

Step 2: Click your profile icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Step 3: Click the three lines menu in the upper right.

Step 4: Select Your Activity.

Step 5: Click Recent Searches. 

Step 6: Click the X icon next to each search you want to remove. To delete them at once, Click Clear All. 

How to Delete Instagram Search History Using Desktop 

Step 1: On your browser, go to instagram.com and log in to your account. 

Step 2: Tap the search bar in the upper area. 

Step 3: Tap X next to the searches you wish to delete. Or tap the Clear All option to delete the entire search history. 

Once you delete your history on your computer, it will also be removed on your app, including other devices, as your history of an account syncs across all devices you use. 

Can I Stop Instagram From Saving My Search History?

Unfortunately, users don’t have any control over Instagram recording their search history. 

However, several browsers have an option to go to incognito that doesn’t keep any history.

But this feature is not available on Instagram yet. The only way someone can get rid of it is to delete their History.
