How to Find Advanced Settings on Instagram?

You can discover the advanced settings option on the page where you publish your posts.

Here’s how to access advanced settings.

Step 1: Launch the Instagram app and select post after tapping the icon in the top-right corner.

Alternatively, you can perform the same task by swiping from left to right on your home screen page and selecting the Post option from the bottom menu. Both methods will locate you on the same screen.

Step 2: Choose the picture you want to post on Instagram. You can select a saved photo on your device or take a new one.

Step 3: Tap the arrow sign in the top-right corner after selecting the picture for your Instagram post. On the next page, you can edit your image and apply filters as per your choice or move ahead without making any changes.

Now, you will see the page where you can publish the post. The advanced settings option will pop up at the bottom of the same page.

Step 4: Click on the Advanced Settings to view advanced setting options for your current Instagram post.

The following options will appear in the Advanced Settings category:

  1. Hide like & view counts on this post: Enable this option when you want to prevent everyone except you from viewing the total like counts on your post.
  1. Turn off Commenting: As the name suggests, selecting this option will prevent other people from commenting on your post.
  1. Write alt Text: Alt (alternate) text is helpful for users with visual impairments. Instagram has this feature that creates alt texts for your posts by default, but you can write them here too.

Enabling any of the above settings will only be applied to the particular post you are currently posting instead of all your posts.

You can unhide like counts and turn on comments anytime you want to. To change the advanced settings, tap the three-dotted menu on the post and select any of the available options.
